I have collected some of the best ideas and activities to give you the perfect inspiration for a romantic vacation. Whether you are visiting Venice on your honeymoon, wedding, or S. Valentine’s day, I’m sure you will find something interesting to add to your bucket list of romantic activities to do in Venice as a couple.

List of Romantic Activities to do in Venice for Couples

  • A romantic gondola ride –
The most popular romantic activity that you can carry out in Venice is riding the beautiful gondolas with your lovely partner while the gondolier sings you a serene song. This activity needs to introduction and it’s one of the most iconic things to do in Venice.
What can be more romantic than riding a Venetian gondola with your loved one? Board the gondola from any of the main bridges such as the Accademia or from the Rialto Bridge at a rate of 80 euros for a 25-30 minutes tour. The price is pretty much the same all around the city so I recommend starting your tour from Rialto, San Marco or Accademia in order to get the best view of the Grand Canal.

  • Enjoy fine dining in the best restaurants – Italy is famous for its cuisines, and you should know that the City of Venice has some of the most luxurious restaurants that are perfect for a romantic date.
The best luxury restaurants in Venice are:
    - Cha Qui Rit”
    - “Estro”
    - “Danieli Hotel”
    - Aman Hotel
You can have sumptuous Italian cuisines with extremely high-end service and attention to detail. You are setting yourself up for success with these names.

  • Eating gelato by walking along the shore of Fondamenta Zattere – The Italian name of a frozen dessert is “gelato”. Often imitated around the world due to its apparent easy ingredient list (It is made by mixing whole milk and sugar, puree, and nuts). Venice presents one of the top destinations that serve quality gelato and nothing the beat the taste here. It’s creamy, fresh, smooth, and delicious. In Fondamenta Zattere you have the occasion to eat the iconic gelato at “Gelateria Nico”, one of the most famous gelato shops in the City.
Not only that but “Fonamenta Zattere” are probably the best place to have a romantic walk while facing the water and looking at the sunset. From here you have access to the open sky and the view of the sunset is not blocked by any building so you get the “whole” experience :)

  • Take a mask painting class – Italy is known for its artworks and rich historical collection of artifacts. Venice is world-famous for its mask painting classes. So, if you are an art lover, never miss the chance to enroll yourself in one of these mask painting classes. This activity is great for those couples who are driven by Fine arts and crafts and prefer to take an active role in their travel experience, bringing back home something unique and hand-made.

  • Book a wine tour – Venice boasts of being close to its highest wine-producing regions such as Valpolicella, Soave, and the Prosecco. Venice also offers hourly classes for untutored tasting. Make sure your tour guide is a skilled sommelier so they will give you all the necessary information about the wine you are drinking and you’ll be able to appreciate all the colorful nuances of Italian wines.

  • Take a day trip to Burano Island and have dinner in Michelin Star restaurant “Venissa” – You can take a day trip to Burano or Murano from Venice San Zaccaria stop (St. Mark’s Square). Originally a fishing island within the Venetian lagoon, Burano has quickly become a must-have day trip for all those couples who like the colorful Italian architecture style. Make sure you pack colorful matching outfits so you can get great pictures. This tiny village offers endless opportunities in this regard. The Island of Burano isn’t really big, so after a nice stroll around its alleys and colorful pastel houses, head over to Michelin star restaurant “Venissa” which serves authentic, gourmet Italian cuisine.
