Since the very first time I picked up a camera I have always been so attracted to the look of film: the grain, the texture, the depth, the colors. Everything about this medium is so fascinating to me. I have always been kinda scared and overwhelmed by the idea of actually shooting film, that for years tried to emulate and replicate those qualities into my digital work, until the day I decided it was time for me to start practice and learn how to shoot film.
So I bought a used Canon film camera and a roll of Fujifilm Superia 100 and, without knowing too much about It or overthinking it, I started to practice. Thereโs no place better than Venice, Italy to try this new skill. The buildings of Venice along with the colors of film make a beautiful combination.
Being a professional photographer (I mostly shoot couples, families, weddings, fashion..) Iโm sure I will include more film into my workflow and Iโm super excited about it.
This images are scanned by a local camera store here in Venice (Fotofranco) with a Noritsu HS-1800. The price for developing and scanning is about 10โฌ.
Let me know what you think and If you like to shoot film when you travel or you like the look!! :)
