Florence (Tuscany) fine art film photographer - Analog photos (Fuji 400h + Kodak Gold 200)

Florence lies in the northern part of Italy and is the capital city of Tuscany. Tuscany is the wine capital of Italy since the best Italian wines come from this part of the country. This beautiful city is a paradise for photo enthusiasts because of its magnificent Roman renaissance buildings, magnificent architecture, and awe-inspiring artworks.

What makes it more photogenic is the gorgeous backdrop that makes every photo liveable, and fantastic. If you are a great admirer of Italian culture, food, and some exotic Instagram photos, never miss out on this city during your Italian trip.

Now let’s move around at the most Instagrammable places in this lovely town of Florence.

Piazza Del Duomo

The Piazza Del Duomo is the most iconic place in the city of Florence. This area is named after the Milan Cathedral (the Duomo). The city also comprises some of the Roman architectural masterpieces such as St. John’s Baptistery, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral. Marble and structural elements are the two important constituents that make this iconic building an excellent Instagrammable place in Florence.

Ponte Vecchio

The Ponte Vecchio is a bridge in Florence and is an expansion of the Arno River. Numerous shops are spread all over the place near the Arno River making it a perfect place for the photoshoot. Earlier the area was a paradise to the butchers, but now it houses souvenir tenants and jewelry shops.

Moreover, Ponte Vecchio offers many stunning shots while you are having nice walking down the streets. But if you want an epic shot, try to keep the nearby bridges in your photo with Ponte Vecchio in the background.

Piazzale Michelangelo

The Piazzale Michelangelo is situated on the southern side of River Arno. The site offers a spectacular view of Florence city. Though it is a bit expensive in your pockets, this place is a major hotspot for tourists all around the world.

The most amazing feature is climbing to the top of the cliff along with grabbing a glass of Spritz (Italian white wine) for having a breathtaking view of the city.

Grand Hotel Minerva Rooftop

You can find this Grand Hotel Minerva Rooftop in Florence city itself. The hotel also boasts a superb pool along with a view of the Duomo and Florence city. If you love watching the change of colors in the distant sky, visit this place at least once to observe this stunning view.

Rinascente Rooftop

This building is an Italian departmental store that overlooks the Duomo in the background. This place offers great Italian foods, lunch along with homemade Bellini wine.

Boboli Gardens

The Boboli Gardens, the famous and wonderful Florentine historical park that extends behind the Pitti Palace, represent one of the world's greatest examples of Italian gardens. One of my personal favorite place to visit in Florence, especially during spring, you can admire a wonderful sunset above the city. Make sure to check the opening hours. It takes some time to visit the whole garden (if you want to have a nice, relaxing walk!) Last time I visited, they started to close a few minutes after I got in so I had to rush my visit! :(

Here are some of my favorite images from the Boboli Garden. All taken on 35mm Fuji 400h Film.

Palazzo Pitti

The Palazzo Pitti is the largest Renaissance palace in Florence. It is located in the Oltrarno area, a short distance from Ponte Vecchio. The first core of the building dates back to the year 1458, as the urban settlement of Luca Pitti's bank. The palace was purchased by the Medici family in 1549 and became the principal residence of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany, first in Medici and since 1737 in Habsburg-Lorraine. After the unification of Italy, it played the role of the Royal Palace of the Savoy House during the five years when Florence was the capital of the Italian Empire (1865-70). In 1919 Vittorio Emanuele III donated it to the government: since then it has been a state museum.
