Venice isn’t exactly known for its corporate girlboss energy, unless your office happens to be, IDK, a 17th-century palazzo on the Grand Canal. But that’s exactly the vibe Alisa brought to our latest shoot, and honestly? The city may never recover.
What’s exactly an Office Siren??
The office siren aesthetic comes from a mix of fashion and pop culture influences. It has roots in 90’s runway shows from designers like Versace, Gucci, and Prada, where office wear was styled to look sleek and high-status. It was also shaped by characters in films like “Working Girl” and “The Devil Wears Prada,” where sharp tailoring and bold makeup signaled power.
In the early 2000’s, magazines and TV shows carried the look forward with more fitted cuts, glossy lips, and high heels. It was less about blending in at work and more about standing out.
The style has returned through TikTok, where the term “office siren” describes a confident, polished version of corporate dressing. Key elements include fitted blazers, pencil skirts, sheer tights, pointed heels, and makeup that emphasizes eyes and lips. The goal is to project control, precision, and presence.
Alisa, for those not in the know, is the glamorous Russian girl living la dolce vita on Venetian streets that most people only see in postcards. She’s got the style, the charisma, and a makeup collection that could rival an entire Sephora warehouse. Between coffee dates at Gritti and evening spritzes on a terrace overlooking the lagoon, she models, she serves luxe lifestyle content, and she does it all without breaking a sweat, or a stiletto heel.
For this particular shoot, we decided to take the “office siren” aesthetic out of the fluorescent-lit cubicle nightmare it’s usually stuck in and give it a Venetian glow-up. Think: sharp tailoring, 90’s power glam, and the kind of confidence that could make your boss start rethinking the dress code. Kriszta Korosi, aka the magician behind the makeup chair, delivered a flawless 90’s-inspired glam look, frosted lids, a perfect nude lip, and cheekbones you could see from across the Zattere promenade.
Speaking of Zattere, that’s where we kicked things off. It’s basically Venice’s unofficial catwalk, with the Giudecca Canal sparkling in the background like a set piece from a Wes Anderson fever dream. Alisa strutted down the waterfront as if she had a board meeting to attend at Prada HQ in five minutes. Wide angles, on-camera flash, and just enough wind to make her hair look like it had its own stylist on payroll, it was giving Wall Street power player meets Italian Riviera.
Then came Palazzo Experimental, our second location and possibly the chicest “office” setting in Venice. Velvet sofas, marble accents, and that moody cocktail-bar lighting? Perfect for slipping into a more sultry take on the siren persona. Under the flash, every sequin, silk fold, and smoky shadow popped like we were shooting the cover of a high-fashion magazine. And honestly, we basically were.
The end result? A series of images that make you want to buy an expensive pen, quit your job, and start a consulting firm just so you can wear sharp blazers in Venice.
